We provide a friendly, accessible and personalised service.
Carolle was a practicing solicitor for over 35 years. Originally qualifying in 1982, she specialised in Wills and Probate and associated work for 25 years, working in local law firms. Throughout her time in practice, Carolle prided herself upon a friendly and sympathetic attitude towards her clients delivered with clarity and professionalism. Increasingly disenchanted with the target-driven and production-line ethos of large legal firms, she left legal practice to open her own business in 2019 where the client is at the centre of a process that is local, informal and personal. Now a retired solicitor, Carolle is a member of the Society of Will Writers, the UK's professional body for the will writing industry so her clients can remain confident that their interests are protected and upheld.
Following an enquiry, we will supply you with details of our service including our terms of business. Once you have decided that you wish to proceed, we will organise a mutually convenient consultation in your own home and take instructions for the work. This gives you the chance to discuss your situation and wishes in comfortable and familiar surroundings at your own pace. Your instructions and the tax implications (if any) will be confirmed in writing together with details of your personal circumstances, a summary of our service and advice, the total price of the work and the likely timescale within which it will be completed. Upon receipt of your acceptance, we will supply a draft of the appropriate document(s) for approval and then deal with any amendments, if required, prior to meeting to execute the document(s).
Carolle is reducing her workload as she moves into semi-retirement and so the timing of an initial meeting at a distant future date may not suit you and if so, we will endeavour to suggest an alternative provider.
We understand some people do not wish to engage in face to face meetings or the distance is too great for an in-person meeting to be feasible. If so, we can make alternative arrangements. There are lots of methods of giving and taking instructions that do not involve a personal visit. Subject to ensuring your identification, we can organise a virtual meeting to discuss your wishes. After that, we can use the telephone and email (and even the post) to work on the draft documents together and completion of the documents can be supervised by FaceTime, Zoom or WhatsApp. Please give Harpenden Wills a ring if you would like to explore this option.
